The friendly Frenchman Puyo Puyo a.k.a. Pascal Le Brain from Nantes released this robotic debut in 2003. The playful mixture of odd disco and wacky computer pop instantly became a hit on Gagarin Records. Especially the driving track "Play Skip Stop" and the melancholical "Melodie en sous sol" with its shimmering nervousness won the hearts and legs of his fans (given that music can win a leg).
Rephrasing the punkband Clash, Puyo Puyo concluded: "I fought the low-fi and the low-fi won".
